98.3 “The BULL” Christmas Bash II Is A Sell Out Thanks To Trailer Choir! Trailer Choir took their show on the road for the 98.3 "THE BULL" Christmas Bash II ... Trailer Choir took their show on the road for the 98.3 "THE BULL" Christmas Bash II at Jewel’s Dance Hall in Austinburg , Ohio on December 22, 2007. But the story begins much earlier… A little over two years ago, Roger McCoy (98.3 "The BULL" Program Director) was given a cd of the song “Rockin’ The Beer Gut.” He really believed in the tune and was familiar with Butter (a.k.a. Mark Fortney) who is an Ashtabula, Ohio native. Mr. McCoy gave the song a chance on his station, and it jumped to their top requests in no time. “Every where I went people kept asking me about ‘That Beer Song’. I thought they were talking about the Garth Brooks song we were spinning at the time. They were quick to correct me, and tell me they wanted to hear that 'Beer Gut' song. It didn’t take long for the station to realize that they had a hit on their hands! Mr. McCoy and his good friend, Scony (98.3 "The BULL" Morning Personality) developed a relationship with Butter and followed his career from artist and songwriter, to center of the “power group” now known as Trailer Choir who were recently signed to Toby Keith’s record Label, Show Dog Nashville. It was an emotional evening for Butter, who was overwhelmed by the response from his hometown… “This show was easily my personal favorite show that I have ever had the chance to perform! I am excited to see the hometown support and turnout for this event. I am proud of how they have embraced myself, Big Vinny, Crystal and the rest of the band. I look forward to the next time we can get back up there for another show.” The rest of the group shared in Butter’s enthusiasm for a return visit to Austinburg. Everyone wanted tickets...even one listener told me she would do 'anything' for me if I could get her into the show. I wish I had a damn ticket to sell her...she was smo-king!"
