Trailer Choir Rocks CMT With Holiday “Cheer (Gut)”

Band Set To End A Busy Year With Dec. 19 Benefit Show For Second Harvest Food Bank

NASHVILLE—Trailer Choir’s new video for “Rockin’ The Beer Gut (‘Holla’ Day Version)” has been added into holiday rotation at CMT and CMT Pure Country.

The hilarious, animated video features cartoon versions of the three band members, Butter, Big Vinny and Crystal Hoyt, in a comical “Holla" Day re-working of their hit country song, written by Butter and co-produced with Toby Keith. In the new version, Santa’s “beer gut” naturally becomes a “cheer gut.”

The song is available now at all digital retailers, including iTunes and Amazon.com.

CMT also featured Trailer Choir on “Southern Fried Flicks With Hazel Smith,” which aired last weekend (Dec. 12-13). The band made a special “Holla” Day appearance, and performed the song for host Hazel Smith in her kitchen. Smith was so taken with the trio, she wrote a full-page feature about them in Country Weekly, where she said the band’s Butter is “so smooth, he could not go by any other name."

The Nashville-based band is currently rehearsing for its final show of the year, the upcoming Big “Holla” Day Bash, scheduled for December 19 at the new, downtown Nashville club 2nd Avenue Live. The show doubles as a food drive for Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, and fans are being encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to donate.

Trailer Choir plans to debut several new songs at the show. Says Butter, “We are getting ready to go back into the studio to record at the first of the year, and we have always taken any new songs on a test drive at live shows to see how the crowd responds.”

“We are really looking forward to closing out the year here at home, and we are really hoping for a great turnout to help out Second Harvest,” says Big Vinny. “Lord knows, I don’t believe in anyone going hungry!”

Second Harvest is reporting a significant increase in the need for food assistance this year. Most needed items are peanut butter, canned meat, canned vegetables, canned fruit, macaroni & cheese, and cereal.
